Lesson 2: (Skills)

I/ OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, students can: revise reading, speaking, listening and writing about hobbies, health and community service.
1. Knowledge:
a. Grammar : - Review: present simple and simple future, the present perfect tense
b. Lexical items : - Vocab: Words expressing hobbies, health issues, community service and volunteer work
c. Pronunciation: -
2. Skills:
- Listening, Speaking, Reading,Writing and interactive skills
3. Attitude:
- Cooperation, respect, having right and friendly attitudes with friends, teachers in the new school
4. Quality and competence:
- Be confident and friendly with the new school environment
- Develope listening, speaking skills and cooperative interaction
II/ TEACHING AIDS (MATERIALS)
1.Teacher’s preparation:
- Lesson plan, Pictures, posters ,textbook,CD-MP3(Computer-Multi projector/cassette/ “sách mềm”) and other materials
2.Students’ preparation: -Textbook, notebook, school things.

READING

1. Read the passage, then choose the most appropriate answer A, B or C to each question. (p37)
1. T asks Ss to read the questions first and identify the keywords in each question.
- Ss can then read the text and choose the answers.
SPEAKING
Are you a community person?
2.Work in pairs.... (p37)
-Let Ss start with the question-and-answer through speaking and listening. Then they can exchange their results and take turns to report it to class.

LISTENING
3.Listen and tick the correct answers... (p37)
- T plays the recording
- Ss listens
- T helps if necessary
- Check the results
WRITING
4.Make the complete sentences... (P37)
- T asks Ss to determine the subjects and the verbs of each sentence to see if it is a simple or a compound sentence.
- T may allow Ss to translate the sentences into Vietnamese.
- T checks all the answers before betting Ss do the second task of the exercise.

V. Home work
- Do Test yourself in the Workbook.
- Prepare for the 45 minutes test.
