Lesson 2: Skills
- Objectives:
This unit reviews the language and skills Ss have learnt in Units 1, 2, and 3. Help Ss torecall the language and encourage them to contribute as much as possible
- Language content:
- Knowledge; - Grammar: phrasal verbs, comparison, reported speech
- Vocabulary: related to unit 1-3
- Skills: Practicing skills
- Attitude: - Ss are interested in practicing skills
- Ss are interested in doing exercises
- Competences: - Co-oporation: work in pairs, groups, teams
- Self- study: work individually.
- Use language to do write an e-mail
C.Preparation:
1.Teacher: book, planning, picture, laptop, projector
2.Students: books, notebooks
- Teaching methods: Communicative approach, group Ss and T’s activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present….
E.Procedure:
Ss and Teacher's activities I. Warm up (5') - Check the old lesson II. Reading:(10') 1.Read the two letters: one from a girl and the other... (P38) - Have Ss read the letters silently. T clarifies anything they do not understand. Choose Ss to read the passages aloud sentence by sentence. Correct their pronunciation. Then Ss do the exercise in pairs - Goes around to help weak sts - Get feedback
III. Speaking (10') 2.Talk in groups. Prepare a one – minute talk... (P39) - Have sts work individually first. Have them read all three situations and think of the one that interests them the most. Then they talk in groups. - Give them a few minutes to prepare what they want to say. - Encourage them to use the language they have learnt. - Go around and give assistance if need be - Model with one good sts - Get sts to report to the class after the interview IV. Listening (10') 3.Listen to the conversation and answer the questions (P39) a/ Play the recording once. Have Ss listen and write their answers. b/ Play the recording again once or twice. Have Ss write down the words/ phrases as they hear. T checks - Get feedback V. Writing (8') - Ask st to write a letter to their pen friend about their last visit to a craft village. - They can refer to the following +time/ date of your visit + people you went there with + the name of the village + the crafts it makes +what you saw there +Your impression of the visit Production: - Continue to write the letterat home - Prepare for the test |
